Craddock was an important part of the athletic history of Southwestern after starring at the school as quarterback in the 1920’s. He later went on to serve as the Owner, Editor and Publisher of the Weatherford newspaper and did so for close to 40 years. Craddock helped to establish the Oklahoma Press Association, and served as the OPA’s president in 1948. During his time with the Weatherford Daily News, he was instrumental along with Rankin Williams in helping develop the school’s athletic hall-of-fame. He was the Master of Ceremonies for many of the early hall-of-fame inductions. Due to his dedication to the Weatherford community and the newspaper, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in 1975.
