A native of Eastview, Okla., Stout posted a string of impressive performances as a wrestler at Southwestern from 1931 to 1934 going undefeated in conference duals. At the 1933 NCAA National Meet he came in second a finished third in 1934. He won the National AAU Meet in 1934 after a second place finish in 1933. Stout would spend the next 38 years at Sulphur High school where he taught science and industrial arts as well as coaching football, wrestling and baseball.
