An all-conference lineman from Altus, Okla., Jackson together with Arnold Shockley and Jenks Simmons made the Bulldogs one of the most feared football teams in the state during the 1920’s. Jackson lettered all four years and twice was named to the all-conference team. After graduation, Jackson went on to play professional football with the Providence Steam Rollers from 1928-1930. Along with Simmons, Jackson helped the Steam Rollers claim the 1928 NFL Championship title.

Jackson was also a standout wrestler for the Bulldogs.  Jackson won conference championships in the heavyweight division in 1926 and 1927. He was named captain of the wrestling team in 1928.
