Gore ran the 100-yard and 200-yard dashes, high and low hurdles, pole vaulted and played first base and outfield on the baseball team. He was named to the Daily Oklahoman’s all-Decade team of the 1930’s. He played professional football for the Detroit Lions during the 1939 season, appearing in seven games. After his playing days, Gore started his career in education where he served as a coach and principal at Davidson, Walters and later Frederick High School before retiring in 1975.
