Brown, Dodgion, & Fleetwood Highlight 2024 All-GAC Golf Awards

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Four members of SWOSU Women's Golf earned All-Great American Conference honors at the awards banquet preceding the GAC Championships on Saturday night, while head coach Brad Fleetwood was named the GAC's Women's Coach of the Year.

Megan Brown, Drew Dodgion, Freya Sala, and Rebecca Lau all landed on all-conference teams. Brown and Dodgion were placed on the first team, with Sala on the second team and Lau as an honorable mention.

Fleetwood was named the league's Coach of the Year on the women's side, matching his 2016 Men's Coach of the Year to become a two-time winner in the conference.

Aside from the all-conference nods for play on the course, four from the program earned academic honors including men's golfer Lukas Hendricks who was named the Men's Elite Scholar Athlete for having the highest GPA of any male competitor in the championship field. Dodgion, Ashlyn Acosta, and Cameron Gallagher were all named GAC Distinguished Scholar Athletes. The distinction is awarded to eligible student-athletes participating in the championship field with at least a 3.70 GPA and 70 hours of completed classwork.
