RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Women's Golf freshman Maria Velilla took home her fourth Great American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week honor of the season following her second-place finish at the Diffee/Ford Lincoln Invitational on Tuesday.

Velilla had two weekly honors in the fall and now has won back-to-back awards in her first two opportunities in the spring season.

At Kickingbird GC this week, Velilla shot an opening-round 74 with no birdies on her card in the first 18 holes. On the second day, she opened with two birdies in her first three holes and carded an even round of 70, tied for the lowest round of the tournament. She played the par 4s better than anyone on the course, shooting just +2 across all par 4s, the only player under +4.

She is currently ranked fourth in the NCAA Central Region and has four top three finishes this year, having done so in both tournaments so far this spring.
