Setting the Scene
- The No. 7/5 Lady Bulldogs will put their NCAA Division II program best 14-game winning streak on the line on Thursday at home against Southeastern where SWOSU will begin the final stretch of the regular season with five games in 10 days
- Of those five games, three will be on the road including a Feb. 19 date with rival Northwestern up in Alva, while the other two remaining games will be in Weatherford which includes Thursday's contest
- SWOSU is now the lone team in the Central Region with one loss on the season after both Central Missouri and Augustana (SD) fell last week 
- The Lady Bulldogs defeated Southeastern on the road 84-80 in the first matchup of the season back on Jan. 13th in one of SWOSU's closest margin of victories this year
- SWOSU has never lost to the Savage Storm in Weatherford, holding a perfect 6-0 mark at home against Southeastern in the GAC era
 
The Opponent
Southeastern (10-12, 8-9 GAC)
- The Savage Storm currently sit in a three-way tie for fourth place in the league standings with their 8-9 mark and have lost four of their last six contests
- Emem David is SE's only double figure scorer on the year, averaging 10.3 points per game and 8.1 rebounds
- In conference play however, Alix Robinson is leading the Savage Storm in scoring as their only double figure scorer at 10.2 points per game (David 9.5 ppg)
- They average 68.4 points per game this season, but also allow 68.2 points per game
 
The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (152-102, 9th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the '11-12 and '12-13 seasons and she has now led the Lady Bulldogs to four 20-win seasons after a 20-10 finish a year ago
- Musick has coached two All-Americans and 18 All-GAC selections, including two Player of the Years (Darcie Dick, 2012 / Hailey Tucker, 2017) and one Freshman of the Year (Hailey Tucker, 2016)
- Musick has led SWOSU to four GAC Tournament Championship games with two GAC Tournament Championships (2012, 2014) and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) to her credit
- In nine seasons at SWOSU, Musick has a career record of 152-102, including a mark of 10-9 against SE all-time
 
SE: Darin Grover (196-162; 13th season)
- Coach Grover was the 2014-15 GAC Coach of the Year after leading his squad to a 20-10 record and GAC Tournament semifinal appearance
- Grover has led Southeastern to the NCAA Division II national tournament twice and amassed more than 240 wins between his time at Southeastern and NEO (JC)

Checking the Standings
- Three teams have now clinched spots in the GAC Tournament after Henderson State joined Arkansas Tech and SWOSU last week for teams to clinch a Bartlesville bid
- Ouachita, Harding, and Southeastern are all tied with 8-9 league records in fourth place
- Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Arkansas hold 7-10 records behind those three, and Northwestern and East Central have some work to do at 6-11

SWOSU Notes
- The Lady Bulldogs are coming off of their best defensive performance of the season against Arkansas-Monticello where they held the Cotton Blossoms to an opponent season low 46 points and 27.3% field goal percentage
- Tyra Aska notched a season high 22 points in that game, just her second time scoring 20+ points in a game this season and first since the opening game of the year
- Hailey Tucker and Bethany Franks both collected double-doubles last week, now combining for 15 between the pair this season
- Penina Faumui's three assists and Hayden Priddy's four steals against UAM also set season highs for each of them
- SWOSU is closing in on the highest win total of the program's NCAA Division II era, holding a 22-1 overall record with five regular season games remaining on the schedule
- SWOSU's best NCAA season came during the 2012-13 season when the Dawgs went 24-7 and made an NCAA Tournament appearance -- one of two in the program's history
- The Lady Bulldogs' 85.5 points per game this season continues to rank them fourth in all of NCAA Division II
- Tucker sits just outside of the Top 10 nationally in scoring, ranking 11th at 20.5 points per game and just 0.4 points from that No. 10 spot
