Setting the Scene
- No. 11/9 SWOSU Women's Basketball will look to complete a perfect month of January on Saturday when they take on Ouachita on the road to close out their three game streak away from Weatherford
- The Lady Bulldogs are currently 8-0 in January and have won their last nine contests dating back to the lone loss of the season on December 7 against now No. 3 LCU
- Ouachita gave SWOSU all they could ask for back on Nov. 16th -- a one-possession 68-66 game the Lady Bulldogs managed to pull out
- That game was tied at 64-64 with 1:05 to play in Weatherford, before SWOSU eventually scored and then scored again to grab a two-possession lead
- Last season, SWOSU suffered a 114-79 rout at the hands of Ouachita in Arkadelphia
- The Lady Dawgs hold a 10-4 advantage over OUA in the GAC era, but are just an even 3-3 inside Bill Vining Arena

The Opponent
Ouachita (10-8, 6-6 GAC)
- The Tigers sit right at .500 in league play with six wins and six losses and are coming off of a 78-74 home victory over Northwestern on Thursday night
- OUA sports the fourth best scoring defense in the GAC, holding opponents to 66.9 points per game
- Kori Bullard, a Ouachita Volleyball standout, is averaging 1.5 blocks per game in the post -- fourth best in the GAC
- Ouachita sits fourth in the conference standings, tied with Southeastern

The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (147-102, 9th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the '11-12 and '12-13 seasons and she has now led the Lady Bulldogs to four 20-win seasons after a 20-10 finish a year ago
- Musick has coached two All-Americans and 18 All-GAC selections, including two Player of the Years (Darcie Dick, 2012 / Hailey Tucker, 2017) and one Freshman of the Year (Hailey Tucker, 2016)
- Musick has led SWOSU to four GAC Tournament Championship games with two GAC Tournament Championships (2012, 2014) and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) to her credit
- In nine seasons at SWOSU, Musick has a career record of 147-102, including a mark of 10-4 against OUA all-time

OUA: Gary Crowder (341-285; 23rd season)
- His 341 wins at Ouachita is the all-time record for most wins in the history of the Lady Tiger program
- During his previous 22 years at OUA, Crowder's teams have either been ranked in the Division II Top 25 or received votes to be in the poll 11 times

Checking the Standings
- The Lady Bulldogs remain two games ahead of Arkansas Tech and atop of the league standings
- Ouachita and Southeastern are tied for fourth place with even 6-6 records
- Four teams are knotted in sixth place with 5-7 slates: Oklahoma Baptist, Northwestern, Southern Nazarene, and East Central
- Harding sits in 10th and out of the postseason picture, but is just one game out at 4-8

SWOSU Notes
- The Lady Bulldogs are currently riding a nine game winning streak, passing their previous season high of eight consecutive wins to begin the season before suffering their first and only loss of the year against Lubbock Christian
- Against Henderson State on Thursday (Jan. 25), the offense was held to just 71 points -- their second lowest scoring performance in a victory this season
- It was just SWOSU's third time all season to not score at least 80 points and snapped the Lady Dawgs' three consecutive game streak of scoring at least 91 points
- Bethany Franks came away with her fifth double-double of the season against the Reddies, scoring 16 points and grabbing 14 rebounds
- SWOSU's two game streak of having all five members of the starting lineup finish in double figure scoring also came to an end, but just barely, after Taylor Hedrick tallied seven points against HSU
- The defense forced the second most amount of turnovers of the year against the Reddies after ending with 24 on the night, but also committed the second most amount of turnovers this season on the offensive end with 18
- SWOSU's best defensive night in terms of turnovers came against Ouachita back on Nov. 16th when the Dawgs forced the Tigers into committing 27 that night
- The Lady Dawgs knocked down 21-of-24 (87.5%) from the free throw line against HSU, marking their second best shooting percentage at the stripe this season

Looking Ahead
- SWOSU will return to Weatherford next week and welcome Harding and Arkansas Tech in the usual Thursday and Saturday conference slate of action
