SHAWNEE, Okla. – SWOSU Track & Field opened a busy stretch of the outdoor season at the Oklahoma Baptist All-Comers Meet over the weekend, posting improvements across multiple events.
The meet marked the first of four consecutive weeks of competition. The Bulldogs will return to action this week at the Friends University Spring Invitational, scheduled for April 2-4.
Freshman
Milly Hughes highlighted the weekend with SWOSU's top finish, placing second in discus with a throw of 41.96 meters. Fellow freshman
Haley Baalson added a fourth-place finish in shot put with a mark of 12.40 meters. Both were new bests from the first-year Bulldogs.
In distance events, SWOSU's 1500-meter trio of
Makenlee Shieldnight,
Canon Russell, and
Madison Radke all recorded personal bests. Shieldnight led the group with a 10th-place finish in 5:11.62.
