WICHITA, Kan. – SWOSU Track & Field continued its busy stretch of the outdoor season at the Friends Spring Invitational, held April 2-3.
Originally scheduled as a three-day meet, the event was condensed to two days due to projected weather on Saturday.
SWOSU's top performances came in the shot put, where
Torri Tottress (12.54m) and
Haley Baalson (12.39m) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
Baalson also turned in a seventh-place finish in discus with a personal-best throw of 38.64 meters. She was one of five SWOSU freshmen to record personal bests at the meet.
Canon Russell highlighted the distance group, posting a time of 5:10.98 in the 1500 meters, the fastest by a Bulldog in the event since early March of last season, and just missing a spot in the program's top-10 list.
SWOSU will return to action Wednesday at the Red Raven Invitational, hosted by Coffeyville Community College.
