RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Women's Basketball junior forward
Landry Allen earned her fourth Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week award of the season, the conference office announced Monday.
The honor matches the most weekly defensive awards won by any player during last season's inaugural year of the recognition, and the 2025-26 schedule has not yet reached the halfway point. Through seven weeks, Allen has claimed four of the conference's seven Defensive Player of the Week honors, while SWOSU has accounted for five of the seven overall after
Elle Papahronis earned the award in Week 1.
In SWOSU's lone game of the week, Allen nearly recorded a double-double against East Central on Saturday, finishing one rebound shy while adding five blocks and two steals. It marked the second time this season she has totaled at least five blocks and two steals in a game. The league leader in blocked shots has now recorded five or more blocks in five games this season and currently ranks tied for third nationally in Division II, averaging 4.08 blocks per game.
Allen also ranks sixth in the GAC in rebounding (7.3 per game) and fourth in steals (2.1 per game).
