WICHITA, Kan. – SWOSU Track & Field competed at the Friends Spring Invitational held Wednesday-Friday this past week where multiple athletes set new personal bests and six notched top-five finishes.
Breegan Barnett (400m hurdles) shaved 35 milliseconds off her old program record when she clocked a 1:07 flat. It's her third time in four outdoor meets she's set the top mark on SWOSU's 400m hurdle list.
Marleigh West (shot put) shattered her previous 12.6m personal best she set last year with a 12.86m throw on her fourth attempt. On attempt five, though she did not beat her mark, she still would have set a new best with a 12.82m hurl. It was a great meet for West, who also hit a PR in hammer throw.
Madison Radke (1500m) and
Makenlee Shieldnight (800m) also PR'd, as well as the 4x400m and 4x100m relay teams who both ran their fastest times of the '25 campaign.
In total, the Bulldogs ended with six top-five placings at the event led by third place showings from West in shot put and
Deuna Miller in long jump.
SWOSU's complete finishes list can be seen below.
SWOSU will be right back to it at the Red Raven Invite next Wednesday, April 9 in Kansas.
