SHAWNEE, Okla. – SWOSU Track & Field competed at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational over the weekend where they got five top five individual finishes highlighted by a program record from
Deuna Miller in the long jump.
Miller broker her own school record when she jumped 5.66m, breaking her previous mark by a tenth of a meter. Miller finished fourth in the event – one of two fourth place finishes after she ran 12.23 seconds in the 100m.
Jaci Shelton had another good showing in discus with a third straight PR. She finished second overall, throwing 40.28m as SWOSU's best individual placing of the meet.
Marleigh West narrowly missed her best mark in shot put. She ended third place with a 12.59m throw, falling just shy of tying her 12.60m program record. West also PR'd in hammer throw, good for a fifth-place finish.
Other personal best marks during the meet came from
Madisan Workman (1:03.79) in the 400m and
Madison Radke (5:24.22) in the 1500m.
SWOSU returns to action this weekend at the Friends University Spring Invite where they'll wrap up the regular season schedule. They'll then rest up and return to Shawnee for the GAC Championships held April 30-May 2.
