SWOSU Women's Basketball is set to host Oklahoma Baptist in their final home game before the new year before traveling down I-40 to face SNU on Saturday.

The Lady Dawgs (2-5, 0-2 GAC) have dropped four straight matchups, losing each by an average margin of six points, with two of those defeats coming against top-10 opponents.

Oklahoma Baptist enters the matchup at 5-3 overall and 1-1 in GAC play after splitting their opening conference weekend. Last season, the Lady Bison finished 20-9 and 16-6 in the league before being upset by Northwestern in the first round of the GAC Tournament. OBU has faced three common opponents with SWOSU this year, picking up wins over Rogers State and Eastern New Mexico while falling in a close one to Northeastern State.

The two teams split the season series last year, with the Lady Dawgs winning the first meeting at home in buzzer-beating fashion before the Lady Bison found their groove in Shawnee with an 83-52 victory. All-time, SWOSU has controlled the matchup, winning 20 of 25 games, including 14 straight from 2017-2022. In Weatherford, the Lady Dawgs hold an 11-2 record in the series.

The Bison are led by the GAC's leading scorer, Jaedyn Getman, who averages 23 points per game. That ranks fourth in the nation. She also pulls down 9.1 rebounds per contest, which is second in the conference. Getman owns the highest scoring game in Division II this season after dropping 45 points against Northeastern State in the season opener in Weatherford at the GAC/MIAA Crossover. Jordyn Anderson adds 11.4 points, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

As a team, OBU scores 69.3 points per game, eighth in the GAC, while holding opponents to 61.3 points per game, which puts them in the top half of the league defensively. Both the Lady Bison and Lady Dawgs rank in the bottom two of the conference in three point percentage. OBU shoots 30.3 percent from deep. Opponents shoot just 23.4 percent from beyond the arc against Oklahoma Baptist, the lowest mark allowed in the GAC.

Southern Nazarene enters the week at 2-4 after starting the season 0-4 in non-conference play. The Crimson Storm bounced back by going 2-0 in their GAC opening weekend with wins over SAU and UAM. They will take on ECU on Thursday before hosting SWOSU on Saturday.

All-time, the Lady Dawgs lead SNU 19-11 in a series that dates back to 2012. However, the Crimson Storm have won the last six meetings between the programs. In Bethany, SWOSU holds an 8-6 record.

SNU does not have a double-digit scorer this season. Their leading scorer is Jillian Crawford, who averages 9.7 points per game, along with 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals. Jordan Hoffman adds 8.2 points per game, while Hannah Duncan leads the team on the glass with 5.2 rebounds per game and contributes one block per contest.

On offense, SNU scores just 57.2 points per game, the lowest mark in the GAC and among the bottom 40 scoring offenses in the nation. Defensively, they allow 65.5 points per game for a scoring margin of -8.3, which is also the lowest in the conference. As a team, they shoot just 35.5 percent from the field while allowing opponents to shoot 44.5 percent, both the worst figures in the GAC.

SWOSU is led by Landry Allen, who averages 15 points per game on 46.7 percent shooting. She adds 6.9 rebounds and 2.1 steals per outing, along with a GAC-leading 3.7 blocks per game, which also ranks third nationally. Against Harding, she posted a season-high 24 points along with six blocks and six rebounds. Allen was named the GAC Defensive Player of the Week for week four, her second conference honor this season. Sincere Jackson has contributed 13.9 points per game along with 5.9 rebounds. She scored 18 points and pulled down nine boards in the matchup against Arkansas Tech.

The Lady Dawgs rank 11th in the GAC in scoring at 60.6 points per game, while allowing 63.3 points on the defensive end. They also sit 11th in field goal percentage at 38.8 percent. Defensively, they rank fourth in the conference by holding opponents to just 35.9 percent shooting.
