RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Women's Basketball junior forward
Landry Allen has been named the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week for week four.
This marks Allen's second defensive weekly award of the season, and the third time in four weeks that a Lady Bulldog has earned the honor, following
Elle Papahronis' recognition in week one.
Across three games last week, Allen averaged eight defensive rebounds per game, totaled double-digit blocks, and added four steals.
She opened the week with a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double against Eastern New Mexico. In the conference opener at Harding, she posted six blocks—her second-highest single-game mark of the season—along with six rebounds and a season-high 24 points. She closed the week with nine defensive rebounds against Arkansas Tech, her second-highest rebounding total of the year.
Allen currently leads the GAC with 3.7 blocks per game (third in NCAA Division II), ranks fifth in the conference with 2.1 steals per game, and is tied for fifth with 6.9 rebounds per game.
She and the Lady Bulldogs look to get back in the win column when they host Oklahoma Baptist this Thursday (Dec. 11) in their final home game of the month. The week concludes Saturday on the road at Southern Nazarene.
