MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. - SWOSU Men's Golf competed at the Missouri Southern Invitational this week and finished 14th in the 18-team field.
No. 4 Central Oklahoma dominated the tournament, winning by 33 strokes and finishing as the only team under par at (-10). Washburn claimed runner-up honors at +23, while Missouri Western rounded out the top three at +27.
Ryan Carlisle led the Bulldogs for the first time this season, earning a top-15 finish at +5 after 54 holes. His best round came in the middle 18, where he fired a 68 that included just one bogey, three birdies, and an eagle. Carlisle also ranked tied for fourth in total pars with 34—just one shy of the tournament lead.
Ben Jackson followed with rounds of 77-80-75 to finish second among the Dawgs. He carded five birdies across the event and added an eagle on a 402-yard par four, making him the only player in the field to eagle a par four all week.
Conrado Diaz Ermacora rebounded from a slow start to find his groove in the final round, shooting a 69—the second-best round for SWOSU behind Carlisle's 68. His final 18 featured three birdies and an eagle, pushing him to a –3 finish for the day and a tie for 66th overall.
Jack Phillips and
Maximo Douer each finished at +20 through 54 holes. Phillips tallied seven birdies and an eagle, while Douer posted five birdies and 27 pars.
The Bulldogs will close out their fall season next week, October 27–28, at the Tulsa Cup hosted at The Club at Indian Springs.
