NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – SWOSU track and field competed at the Bethel Invitational over the weekend where multiple personal records and a program record were broken.
After opening up the outdoor season on a high note three weeks ago, the Bulldogs carried over momentum from that meet to Bethel College. SWOSU grabbed four first place finishes during the one-day meet and 11 different athletes set personal bests, 13 PRs in total.
Natalie Freeman claimed two of the top finishes. She won the long jump and triple jump events. Freeman was also a quarter of the 4x100m relay that took first place. Her winning long jump mark and her 100-meter dash time both set personal records.
In back to back meets, program records have been set for the Dawgs.
Marleigh West etched her name in the SWOSU track and field record books for the shot put after her 12.50-meter throw that placed her second at the invitational.
Deuna Miller placed first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.63 seconds and was on the winning 4x100m relay team.
SWOSU's next meet will be March 29-30 at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational in Shawnee, Okla.
