PITTSBURG, Kan. – SWOSU Track & Field shook the dust off with an early season indoor meet at Pitt State's Robert W. Plaster Center on Saturday, December 7.
It's the earliest meet SWOSU has attended in the nine years of the program.
Marleigh West finished 25th in shot put with an 11.47m throw, edging teammate
Torri Tottress (11.42m) by one placing. It's West's furthest throw competing at Pitt State.
In the 600 yard dash,
Madison Radke and
Makenlee Shieldnight both shaved three or more seconds off their times from a year ago. Radke was 20th overall with Shieldnight right behind her.
Four freshman made their track debuts:
Ema Herald,
Jackie Horne,
Breegan Barnett, and
Morgan Ritchie.
With one indoor meet under their belt, SWOSU will break for the semester and will resume competition on Friday, January 17 at a meet hosted by OU. The Bulldogs will make three total appearances in indoor meets before the outdoor season commences in March.
