EDMOND, Okla. – In a 24-team and 120 player tournament, SWOSU Women's Golf finished eighth at the Grace Shin Regional Preview hosted by Central Oklahoma at Kickingbird Golf Club.
Central Missouri (286-287, 573; +13) won the tournament by two strokes over the GAC's Harding, followed by another two conference foes Henderson State in third and Arkansas Tech in fourth.
Freya Sala led SWOSU for a second time this season with a pair of one-over par 71s on her scorecard. She shot par on 28 of the 36 total holes and added three birdies.
Fresh off an under-par round at the Perkins Cup last week, Dodgion too matched her first round and second round scores with two 72s. Three straight bogeys on holes 15-17 in her opening round spoiled her chance at a lower score.
Five birdies highlighted
London Wilson's first round 72 and her six total in the tournament represented the most of any Lady Bulldog. She shot four strokes higher in round 2 and finished +8.
Ashlyn Acosta shaved off three bogeys in her second round and added two birdies to improve her first round 80 to a 75 on Tuesday.
Lucia Rivas rounded out the team with scores of 80 and 83.
Up next for SWOSU will be the MSU Women's Invitational on October 21-22, held at Wichita Falls Country Club in Texas.
