TULSA, Okla. – SWOSU Cross Country got the season underway late on Thursday night when they ran at 10:00 pm at the Rogers State Invitational held in Tulsa. The Bulldogs went on to finish sixth place in the field.
Three Bulldogs,
Delaney Ferguson,
Hailey Holder and
Payten Fite, made their collegiate debut and established marks to improve upon. Meanwhile, the other four on the roster entered year two of competition as sophomores in what is a young core for the Dawgs.
Isabel Sanchez represented SWOSU's top finisher after shaving one minute and 43 seconds off her previous personal record. It's the first time she has been the first Bulldog to cross the finish line since coming to Weatherford.
Madisan Workman and
Makenlee Shieldnight both also PR'd in the race.
SWOSU will be right back to action next Friday (Sept. 8) at the Aggie Duels hosted by Cameron University in Lawton.
