CLAREMORE, Okla. – SWOSU Cross Country opened its 2025 season with a late-night run at Rogers State's Distance After Dark meet, finishing eighth in the team standings.
The Bulldogs were paced by
Makenlee Shieldnight, who placed 38th overall and set a personal-best 5K time of 20:08.59.
Three runners made their collegiate debuts for SWOSU, highlighted by
Canon Russell's 20:25.52 finish, which ranked second on the team.
With the opener behind them, the Bulldogs will now turn their attention to the Chili Pepper Festival, a premier meet hosted by the University of Arkansas in early October.
