FORT WORTH, Texas – SWOSU Cross Country closed out its regular season on Saturday at the Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop, competing in a large 40-team field that featured more than 300 runners.
For the second straight meet, the Bulldogs ran against deep competition and delivered a steady team effort. Sophomore
Makenlee Shieldnight led the way with a time of 20:14.21, followed closely by freshman
Kylie Nunneley, who clocked her best mark of her inaugural season at 20:24.69. Fellow freshman
Stephanie Gallardo (21:59.86) also turned in her top time of the fall.
Rounding out the team's top finishers were
Madison Radke (20:54.73),
Canon Russell (21:07.99), and
Emily Nelson (21:16.43).
The Bulldogs will now turn their attention to the postseason, with the Great American Conference Championships set for October 25 in Monticello, Arkansas, hosted by Arkansas-Monticello.
