FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After nearly a month away from competition, SWOSU Cross Country returned to action on Saturday at the Chile Pepper Festival, competing in the Women's Prairie Fire Pepper 5K and placing eighth out of 25 teams in a field of 248 runners.
Senior
Madison Radke and freshman
Kylie Nunneley each turned in personal-best performances to lead the Bulldogs.
Radke paced SWOSU with a time of 20:45.1, edging teammates
Makenlee Shieldnight (20:45.3) and
Canon Russell (20:48.3) as the trio finished within three seconds of one another. Nunneley improved on her collegiate debut by more than 25 seconds, clocking in at 21:10.1 to round out the team's top four.
Emily Nelson (21:35.3) and
Stephanie Gallardo (22:10.4) completed the lineup for the Bulldogs.
SWOSU will race again next Saturday before turning its attention to the Great American Conference Championships later this month.
