RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The SWOSU women's golf team was selected third in the Great American Conference preseason poll, announced Thursday afternoon by the league office.
Henderson State, who has won the last three consecutive team titles, was voted first with 81 points and nine first-place votes. Second place Harding received 65 points and the other first-place vote. SWOSU finished with the same number of points as the Lady Bisons, 65, but with no first-place nods.
SWOSU finished inside the top three at the GAC Championship last season after back-to-back fourth place finishes. All five from last year's postseason roster return for SWOSU this year, including multi-time All-GAC selections
Megan Brown and
Rebecca Lau. This bodes well for the Lady Bulldogs, who look to get back to the NCAA Regional Tournament after missing it last year for the first time in a decade.
SWOSU will begin their season at the Central Region Fall Preview on September 5 in Blue Springs, Missouri.
