GARDEN CITY, Kan. – SWOSU Rodeo had two winners over the weekend thanks to first place finishes from Libby Berger in Barrel Racing and Grayden Penny in Team Roping. The women's team went on to finish second while the men were right behind them in third.  
 
Berger's win is now SWOSU's third different barrel racer to take home the top spot in the event this season. She clocked a 13.89 second time in the long round before finishing third in the short go with a 14.02 time.
 
Penny paired up with Tess Mortenson, a Conners State competitor, to win the Team Roping average. Their round-best 7.0 second time in Sunday's short round helped propel them to take home the top spot.
 
The women's team also had a strong performance from Cheyenne VandeStouwe in Goat Tying. Her 6.3 second time in the short go allowed her to win the round. She finished second in the average.
 
On the men's side, SWOSU also got long round wins from Marley Berger and Wyatt Bentz. Berger had a 9.1 second time in Calf Roping, but a no time in the short go. Bentz posted a 4.3 second run in Steer Wrestling and went on to finish eighth overall.
 
The Bulldogs will take a break this weekend and prepare to host the 50th Annual SWOSU Rodeo on April 13-15 in Weatherford. More information on the home rodeo will be posted in the days to come.
