FORT SCOTT, Kan. – SWOSU Women's Rodeo won its fourth straight event this weekend after securing the top spot at the Fort Scott CC Rodeo. The men's team finished seventh.
Three SWOSU cowgirls placed in the top five or better in at least one event, headlined by
Reagan McIntyre, who won both the long round and the average in Goat Tying. It marks the freshman's second victory in the average this season.
Right behind McIntyre was
Cheyenne VandeStouwe, who finished second in the Goat Tying average and fifth in Breakaway Roping. VandeStouwe also won a pair of rounds, taking the short go in Goat Tying and the long round in Breakaway.
Braylee Ward finished fourth in Barrel Racing. Her 13.74-second run in the short round placed third in the round and moved her up to fourth overall in the average.
On the men's side,
Heston Harrison delivered consistent runs in both rounds of Tie Down Roping to earn a second-place finish in the average, marking the best finish of his collegiate career in the event.
In total, SWOSU advanced eight competitors to the short round — four from the women's team and four from the men.
The teams will close out March at the Garden City rodeo before hosting the 53rd Annual SWOSU Rodeo April 9–11 in Weatherford.
