HAYS, Kan. – In the second to last regular season rodeo of the 2022-23 season, SWOSU Rodeo got finishes of second on the women's side and fourth from the men. The Bulldogs had a pair of individual winners thanks to Libby Berger in the Barrel Racing and Brody McAbee in Saddle Bronc.
 
Berger entered the weekend third in the Central Plains Region Barrel Racing rankings and continued to perform after winning the long round and posting a near identical time in the short round to claim the average victory. It's her second time winning the average this season.
 
McAbee, the region's top Saddle Bronc rider, shined again with a pair of third-place rides in both rounds to earn him his third average win of the season.
 
Other men's top performers on the weekend included Marley Berger in Tie Down Roping who took home second, Luke Crompton in Team Roping who took home third, and Tanner Edwards who was inside the top-5 in Saddle Bronc alongside McAbee.
 
Tim Troyer's 79.5-point ride won him the Saddle Bronc long round, but a no score in the short go spoiled his final placing. He finished seventh overall.
 
SWOSU's Barrel Racing factory continued to pepper the final leaderboard as they've done nearly all year. Berger took home gold and Hadley Tate and Abby Hepper both finished inside the top-5. Tate's 17.43 second short round time won the round.
 
The regular season circuit comes to a close next weekend in Guymon, Oklahoma when SWOSU travels to compete at the Panhandle State Rodeo.
