HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2022 Great American Conference Championships on Tuesday, completing the three day and 54-hole tournament in fourth place on the leaderboard.
Henderson State ran away with the title, beating the second place Arkansas Tech by 39 strokes. Harding finished third, just six strokes ahead of the Lady Bulldogs. Gracen Blount of HSU won the individual championship with a combined score of 215 (73, 70, 72) through three rounds. She finished one-under par.
SWOSU got a top-10 finish from
Megan Brown, who finished tied for eighth overall. Brown, named a First Team All-GAC selection on Saturday, started the tournament with back-to-back 79s before finishing strong with an even-par 72 on Tuesday.
Rebecca Lau was SWOSU's second finisher. She was tied for 11th overall and shot her best round on Sunday when she carded a 75 (+3).
The Lady Bulldogs currently sit eighth in the Central Region's current rankings. The top nine teams qualify to compete at the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships. If selected, it will be the ninth consecutive year the Lady Dawgs will be in the field.
