RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore guard Makyra Tramble has been named the Central Region Player of the Year, announced Thursday by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Tramble, now both a back-to-back GAC Player of the Year and unanimous first team all-conference selection, adds the 2022 region player of the year honor to her resume that continues to grow. As player of the year, she also lands on the D2CCA's First Team All-Region list.  Last season, she was named a Team All-American by the D2CCA and appears on track to improve that title this season. 

She currently ranks second in the NCAA in field goals made, third in both field goals attempted and steals, and fifth in assists. Around the GAC she ranks second in scoring, eighth in rebounding, first in assists, first in steals, and sixth in blocked shots. She was also most recently named the 2022 GAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. 

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-America and All-Region Basketball Teams are sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association
