Makyra Tramble Picks Up Third GAC Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Makyra Tramble has been named the Great American Conference Player of the Week, announced Monday afternoon from the league office.

This is the third GAC Player of the Week honor Tramble has earned this season and the seventh of her career. Teammate Karly Gore has also picked up one such honor this season.

Tramble, the GAC's second leading scorer, averaged 22.0 points per game last week in a pair of wins for SWOSU Women's Basketball. Against Henderson State in a 90-78 victory, she notched her third straight double-double with 25 points and a season high 14 rebounds. Two days later against Ouachita, Tramble scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds in an 80-56 win.

The Shawnee native stuffed the stat sheet in other areas as well. She totaled eight assists, four blocks, and six steals last week. All four blocks came against HSU and was a season best, while five of her six steals came against OUA – matching her season best.

The Lady Bulldogs sit atop the GAC standings coming into the final two weeks of the regular season and have already secured a spot in the postseason tournament. They will host Northwestern, Harding, and Arkansas Tech this week in Weatherford.
