DURANT, Okla. – SWOSU Rodeo took home the women's title last weekend at the Southeastern Rodeo, led by Cheyenne VandeStouwe who won the all-around title.
It is the second straight rodeo the women's all-around title has gone to a SWOSU team member.
VandeStouwe won the average in Goat Tying and finished second in the Breakaway. She claimed the fastest times in the long round of Goat Tying and short round of the Breakaway.
Other top performers on the women's side included a pair of barrel racers:
Abby Hepper and
Sadie Wolaver. Hepper and placed third in the average after a second-place ride in the short round, while reigning National Champion
Sadie Wolaver finished seventh.
The men finished seventh as a team at Southeastern after winning the Colby Rodeo last event.
Dustin Sanchez was SWOSU's top finisher. He got 80 points from his long round bull and despite getting no score in the short round, managed to finish second in the Bull Riding average.
Brody McAbee (Saddle Bronc) finished sixth. His best ride came in the long round, a 68-point score that put him tied for second at the time.
SWOSU's next rodeo will be held in Stillwater on October 13-15.
