Women’s Golf Wraps Up Fall Schedule at Tulsa Cup

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The SWOSU golf teams were both active at the same tournament this week, the Tulsa Cup hosted by Rogers State in Broken Arrow.  The women's team finished 10th in their respective field.

Henderson State took home the team title by one stroke. Central Missouri barely missed the top spot, coming in second. The host team Rogers State finished out the top three.

SWOSU's top finisher was Rebecca Lau. She has consistently been at the top of the SWOSU leaderboard all season. This is her fourth tournament out of five turning in the top score for the Dawgs. She came in at T20 on the leaderboard after shooting a +13.

Anna Marksa and Faustina Pergolini drastically improved their scores from round one to round two. Pergolini's 13 stroke improvement was the biggest improvement in the entire field and Marksa's 11 stroke difference was good for the second biggest improvement. The inclement weather on the first day of play should be taken into account for the turnarounds. Ashlyn Acosta accounted for two eagles in the 36 holes she played. Only one other competitor shot an eagle in the whole field.

SWOSU golf's fall season comes to a conclusion with this tournament. The spring season will kick off in in mid-February with the Southern Invitational.
