MUSKOGEE, Okla. – SWOSU Men's Golf faced a field of 20 teams from around the Central Region and finished in the upper third with a sixth-place at the NSU Golf Classic, which was played on Monday and Tuesday at Muskogee Golf Club.
The Bulldogs, who entered the tournament ranked sixth in the Central Region, finished behind three teams who are currently ranked ahead of them, including Central Missouri, who leads the region and won the event by four strokes over Henderson State. Luke Palmowski of Rogers State won the event on the second playoff hole over Kade Johnson of Southern Arkansas.
SWOSU was led by
Gregor Weck, who shot par or below in two of three rounds and finished tied for 17th place at one-over par for the tournament. Two shots behind Weck was
Anders Strand, who tied for 24th, and
Gustavo Tineo was two shots behind him and tied for 34th place.
Heston Brown had two scoring rounds for the Dawgs and tied for 44th place while SWOSU counted
Kason Cook's 73 in round two as he went on to place 58th.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a trip to Hot Springs, Ark., for the 2021 Great American Conference Golf Championships beginning April 19th.
