Setting the Scene
• The Lady Bulldog Basketball team makes their final road trip of the season this weekend as they head to Arkadelphia, Ark., to face Henderson State and Ouachita
• On Thursday, SWOSU goes for the season-sweep of Henderson State, a team they enter the weekend tied with for third place in the GAC standings
• SWOSU then heads to the other side of Arkadelphia on Saturday to face Ouachita, a team the Lady Dawgs have won six straight games against
• With three straight wins and victories in five of their last six games, SWOSU has moved into a three-way tie for third place in the GAC standings and they're just one game behind Harding and Southeastern Oklahoma State in first
• The Lady Bulldogs picked up two rivalry road wins last weekend, winning at Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene to snap a four-game losing skid on the road that dated back to the beginning of January
• SWOSU is now 6-6 in true road games this season and 4-5 in conference road games
 
About the Opponent
Henderson State (17-7, 12-6 GAC)
• The Reddies have won four of their last five games to move into a share of third place in the GAC standings with four games to play
• Henderson State has been especially strong at home, with a 10-1 record inside the Duke Wells Center this season, including an 88-79 victory over league-leading Harding last Saturday
• Hailey Estes leads the Reddies in scoring (14.3 ppg) and rebounding (10.5 rpg) and she's the only player in the GAC averaging a double-double this season
 
Ouachita (4-20, 1-17 GAC)
• The Tigers are winless since January 4th, when they defeated Oklahoma Baptist 71-62 for their lone conference win this season
• Ouachita has three players scoring better than 10 points per game in Maija Gerstone (13.2), Eden Crow (13.1) and Madison Brittain (10.1)
• The Tigers are the lowest-scoring team in the league at 60.6 points per game, but their scoring defense is ranked ninth by allowing 70.1 points on average
 
SWOSU Notes
• Thursday's game between SWOSU and Henderson State will match up the two highest-scoring team in the conference, with HSU leading the league at 77.8 points per game and the Lady Bulldogs right behind at 77.5 points per game
• Lady Bulldog standout freshman Makyra Tramble has scored at least 20 points in three straight games and she led her team to two rivalry road wins last weekend by averaging 24.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game at Northwestern and Southern Nazarene
• Tramble is the third-leading scorer in the conference, averaging 15.5 points per game, and she's now the team leader in rebounds as well with 7.3 per game
• Senior guard Tyra Aska secured her second double-double of the season and fifth of her career after pulling down 11 rebounds to go with 12 points in the win at SNU on Saturday
• Aska ranks third on the team in scoring this season with 10.8 points per game and she's nine points away from becoming the sixth player in program history to score 1,500 career points
Bethany Franks averaged 7.5 rebounds per game last week and had four steals in each game, giving her 87 for the year, which ranks second in NCAA Division II with 3.6 per game
Taber Beer has scored 10 or more points in 12 of the last 14 games and she's fourth on the team with 10.4 points per game while ranking sixth in the GAC with 4.0 assists per game
Maddy North matched a career-high with nine points at Northwestern on Thursday, only to surpass that mark with 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting on Saturday at SNU and she was named Bulldog of the Week for her play
Lauren Ramey scored 11 points at Northwestern, her seventh 10-plus point game of the season, and she's now averaging 6.9 points per game for the year
• SWOSU's second-leading scorer, Maddie Sperle, has scored in double figures during three of the last five games to up her average to 11.8 points per game this season
 
Looking Ahead
• SWOSU will close out the regular season at home against a pair of Great American Conference contenders next weekend
• Current league-leader Harding visits the Pioneer Cellular Event Center on Thursday before Arkansas Tech comes to town Saturday for Senior Day
