INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Sunday evening, the NCAA honored the Top 30 finalists for the NCAA Woman of the Year award and named Angela Mercurio of the University of Nebraska as the award winner.

Hailey Tucker was one of nine finalists for the award and one of three from NCAA Division II to be recognized as a finalist. Each finalist had a short video prepared before being announced to the crowd and briefly interviewed on stage.

Great American Conference Female Athlete of the Year Hailey Tucker is one of 148 student-athletes chosen by NCAA conferences who will advance as nominees for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. The women were selected from a pool of 585 school nominees.

The NCAA Woman of the Year process began with 585 nominees, which conference offices helped narrow to 148 before the Top 30 was announced in September. Now, following the selection of finalists, there are nine women who remain in contention for the award, including SWOSU graduate and former Lady Bulldog great Hailey Tucker.
