Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Women's Basketball (18-9, 14-7 GAC) wraps up the regular season against Henderson State on Saturday at noon with GAC Tournament seeding implications on the line with different scenarios currently in play
- With a win, the Lady Bulldogs will clinch the number three seed in the upcoming postseason tournament while a loss and a Southeastern win will drop SWOSU to the number four seed
- A loss and a Southeastern loss would still result in obtaining the third seed
- The Dawgs defeated Henderson State 85-80 back on Jan. 5 after overcoming a 16-point second quarter deficit in Arkadelphia to earn only their second victory in the Reddie gym
- Henderson State is playing for their postseason hopes on Saturday, as the Reddies are currently tied for eighth place with Arkansas-Monticello at 8-13 league records with a game left on the schedule
The Opponent
Henderson State (8-19, 8-13 GAC)
- HSU enters Saturday on a three-game slide with losses to rival Ouachita and the top two teams in the conference in Harding and Arkansas Tech
- If the postseason tournament were to start tomorrow, the Reddies would be left out due to their two losses to Monticello who now holds the tiebreaker over HSU since the teams are tied in the eighth spot
- The Reddies are led offensively by Pink Jones who is averaging 13.6 points per game alongside three other teammates who average in double figures
