Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Women's Basketball (17-9, 13-7 GAC) takes on Ouachita Baptist on Thursday inside Pioneer Cellular Event Center at 5:30 pm
- The game marks one of two remaining contests on the schedule, both that will be played in the friendly confines of Weatherford where the Lady Dawgs are now 10-1 in home games
- The Lady Tigers handed SWOSU its worse loss of the season back on January 7, after the Lady Bulldogs gave up a season high 114 points and lost by a 35-point margin
- Since the formation of the GAC, SWOSU is 4-1 against OUA in Weatherford and have defeated Ouachita the last four years at home
- OUA is on a three-game winning streak coming into this matchup with wins over Henderson State, Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello, but prior to that had a three-game losing streak against each of the three top teams in the conference Southeastern, Harding and Arkansas Tech

The Opponent
Ouachita Baptist (12-14, 9-11 GAC)
- Currently sits alone in the sixth position in the league standings with two games remaining on the schedule
- The Lady Tigers have two 10-point scorers in Brittain Madison and Chasidee Owens while both Alivia Huell and Kori Bullard average just under the 10 threshold
- Ouachita is 3-8 this season on the road including a 3-6 mark in GAC road contests
- Since their 114-point scoring performance the last time they took on SWOSU, OUA is averaging just 66.9 points per game in the previous fourteen games
 
The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (126-100, 8th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons and she has led the Lady Bulldogs to three 20-win seasons
- Musick has coached one All-American and 15 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year (Darcie Dick, 2012) and one Freshman of the Year (Hailey Tucker, 2016)
- Musick has led SWOSU to the GAC Tournament Championship games with two GAC Tournament Championships (2012, 2014) and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) to her credit
- In eight seasons at SWOSU, Musick has a career record of 126-100, including a mark of 7-2 against SNU all-time
 
Ouachita: Garry Crowder (331-274, 22nd season)
- All-time winningest coach at Ouachita, where he has coached the Lady Tigers for 21
seasons, including a school-record 23 wins in 2008-09
- His teams have been ranked or receiving votes in the Division II Top 25 11 times and
they've set a new school record for victories in a season four times
 
Checking the Standings
- Harding is the only team to solidify their seeding in the GAC Tournament (1) while ECU, SE, SWOSU and ECU have all clinched berths into the tournament and are battling for seeding positions
- OUA is next in line to clinch a spot in the tournament as the next team in the standings who has not yet punched their ticket to Bartlesville
- UAM, SNU and HSU all are battling for the final two playoff positions and are currently tied for seventh in the standings with 8-12 league marks
- One of the above listed teams will not make the tournament

SWOSU Notes
- The Lady Bulldogs put up a season-high 93 points against Southern Nazarene on Monday in their 18-point victory over the Crimson Storm
- Hayden Priddy knocked down a team best seven three-point shots against SNU and set SWOSU's new season high for made threes in a single game
- Priddy ended with 23 points after shooting 50% from the floor (7-for-14) with all seven of her field goals from beyond the arc (7-for-11, 63.6%)
- Nicole Middleton grabbed season best nine rebounds on Monday night and finished just two points shy of her first double-double of the season
- Tyra Aska also finished just one rebound shy of a double-double herself after also scoring a team second best 17 points
- Hailey Tucker was the third player who finished one rebound shy of a double-double but also stuffed the stat sheet with a career high six blocks and tying a career high five steals on the defensive side of the ball
- In the 93-point performance against SNU, SWOSU shot 47.1% from the floor as a team making them 8-1 on the year when shooting greater than 45% in a contest
- Back in SWOSU's first matchup with Ouachita on Jan. 7, the Lady Tigers left their mark on the Dawgs with the most assists (23) and pts (114) against the Dawgs this season while also shooting 56.1% from the field with the most field goals SWOSU has allowed (46)

- SWOSU closes out the regular season against Henderson State at noon on Saturday at home
- From there, the Lady Bulldogs set their sights on the postseason when they travel to Bartlesville, Okla. for the GAC Tournament
