Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Women's Basketball welcomes Henderson State to Weatherford on Saturday in just the second conference game of the season
- The Lady Bulldogs are coming off of a fourth quarter comeback victory against Ouachita on Thursday, keeping their perfect record in the tact at 3-0
- With just 4:27 remaining in the fourth quarter against OUA, SWOSU trailed 60-50 before storming back to defeat the Tigers 68-66 in their home conference opener
- SWOSU swept the regular season series against HSU a year ago, defeating the Reddies by scores of 85-80 in Arkadelphia and 80-69 in Weatherford to close out the regular season
- The 3-0 start to the 2017-18 season is SWOSU's best since the 2010-11 season when they began the year 6-0 despite finishing just 12-14 overall
 
The Opponent
Henderson State (1-2, 0-1 GAC)
- The Reddies are coming off a tough one-point loss to Northwestern in their GAC opener
- They now have losses to NWOSU and Southwest Baptist on the year, with their lone win coming against Northwest Missouri State
- The offense so far is led by Pink Jones (13.3 ppg), Haleigh Henson (13.0 ppg), Torrie Thompson (12.7 ppg) and Bree Bossier (10.0 ppg)
- In the GAC Coaches Preseason Poll, the Reddies were tabbed for the eighth and final playoff spot -- a year removed from missing the postseason by a tiebreaker

The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (133-101, 9th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the '11-12 and '12-13 seasons and she has now led the Lady Bulldogs to four 20-win seasons after a 20-10 finish a year ago
- Musick has coached two All-Americans and 18 All-GAC selections, including two Player of the Years (Darcie Dick, 2012 / Hailey Tucker, 2017) and one Freshman of the Year (Hailey Tucker, 2016)
- Musick has led SWOSU to four GAC Tournament Championship games with two GAC Tournament Championships (2012, 2014) and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) to her credit
- In nine seasons at SWOSU, Musick has a career record of 133-101, including a mark of 10-5 against HSU all-time
 
Henderson State: Jill Thomas (46-68; 5th season)
- Thomas has led the Reddies to the GAC Tournament three times, coached five all-conference players and has had six players earn Academic All-GAC honors
- Prior to HSU, she spent four seasons as the head coach at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, compiling a 65-48 record

SWOSU Notes
- Following back-to-back 80+ point scoring performances as a team, SWOSU scored a season low 68 points against Ouachita on a season low 32.3% shooting from the field
- Hailey Tucker tallied her second consecutive 20+ point scoring night, posting 21 points to lead the offense against OUA
- Tyra Aska came away with another career best with eight steals against the Tigers, surpassing her previous career high of six she set against Emporia State in the season opener
- Aska, SWOSU's leading scorer through three games at 19.7 points per game, scored 18 points against OUA including 15 in the first half
- Freshman Bethany Franks came two rebounds and one point away from a double-double on Thursday, giving the Dawgs a solid 22 minutes of playing time
- Thursday was the first time in three games that SWOSU was outshot by its opponent after Ouachita went 26-for-61 (42.6%) in the game
- SWOSU has gotten to the line at least 24 times in each of its first three games, totaling a season best 30 foul shots against Ouachita and knocking down 21 of them (70%)
- The Lady Dawgs were outscored 27-12 in the third quarter against OUA, the second time in three games they've been outscored by double digits in the quarter following halftime after being outscored 30-20 vs Emporia State as well

Looking Ahead
- Wednesday, November 22nd SWOSU will hit the road for a 5:30 pm non-conference matchup with Cameron in Lawton, Okla
- Saturday, November 25th they will return home for more non-conference action to host Northeastern State inside the PCEC at 2 pm
