Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Women's Basketball (10-5, 6-3 GAC) travels to Shawnee on Saturday to take on Oklahoma Baptist in an afternoon game looking to begin another winning streak
- The Lady Bulldogs still remain undefeated in games following a loss (5-0) after their latest bounce-back win against Southeastern 87-79 after falling to the rival Northwestern Rangers in Alva 87-80 on Monday
- This Saturday's contest will mark the conclusion of the busy week for the Dawgs, as this was the first week all season SWOSU played three GAC games
- The Lady Dawgs split the series last year in Oklahoma Baptist's opening season in the GAC, winning the first matchup 84-77 on Jan. 23 in Weatherford and losing the second 85-81 on Feb. 20 in Shawnee
- SWOSU jumped Southeastern in the conference standings after beating the Savage Storm on Wednesday and now sits in fourth place in the league rankings

The Opponent
Oklahoma Baptist (4-12, 1-9 GAC)
- The Bison currently sit in last place in the GAC with one conference victory over Southern Arkansas back on Jan. 5
- OBU comes into its game against SWOSU on a five-game losing streak dating back to that win over the Muleriders and have lost eight of their last nine
- The Bison have five players averaging double figure points led by Tasha Edge's team high 13.3 ppg, but hold the eighth-ranking scoring offense in the conference averaging 70.4 points per game

The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (119-96, 8th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons and she has led the Lady Bulldogs to three 20-win seasons
- Musick has coached one All-American and 15 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year (Darcie Dick, 2012) and one Freshman of the Year (Hailey Tucker, 2016)
- Musick has led SWOSU to the GAC Tournament Championship games with two GAC Tournament Championships (2012, 2014) and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) to her credit
- In eight seasons at SWOSU, Musick has a career record of 120-95, including a mark of 1-1 against OBU
 
Oklahoma Baptist: Casi Bays (90-54 overall, 21-28 NCAA Div. II, 5th season)
- In her 2nd season at the helm, Bays was named Sooner Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, leading her team to a SAC Tournament Championship and NAIA National Tournament
- As a player at OBU, she was the SAC Freshman of the Year and a 4-time All-Conference selection
 
Checking the Standings
- Harding remains undefeated with a 10-0 league slate, followed by Arkansas Tech with an 8-2 record and Henderson State at 7-3 for the top-three teams in the conference
- SWOSU sits a half game out of the top-three with their 6-3 mark and currently hold the tiebreak over the Reddies with a win over Henderson State earlier in the season
- SE is 6-4 following their loss to the Dawgs, followed by Southern Nazarene's below .500 record of 4-5, ahead of three teams battling for the final two postseason spots: UAM, OUA and NWOSU with 4-6 records
- The final three teams in order: ECU (3-7), SAU (2-8) and OBU (1-9)

SWOSU Notes
- The Lady Bulldogs overcame an eight-point deficit with 8:16 remaining in the fourth quarter on Wednesday to defeat Southeastern
- SWOSU had its fewest number of turnovers this season, with only 10 in the game 
- Hailey Tucker scored 12 points in the fourth quarter, leading the comeback charge allowing SWOSU to outscore SE 24-8 in the final 7:03 in the game
- Tucker currently averages a double-double, leading the conference with 18.6 points and 10.0 rebounds per game
- Tucker is one of just four players in NCAA Division II to lead their conference in points and rebounding categories
- Hayden Priddy tied her season-high of 23 points against SE, making it her third-straight game of at least 20 points and her ninth-straight game of at least 10 points
- Tyra Aska got back on track after a sub-par performance against Northwestern, posting 16 points with three rebounds and three assists
- SWOSU has proven to be a fourth-quarter team, winning the final quarter by a +49 scoring margin in total so far this season (333-284) and has outscored its opponents in total in every quarter but the second by being outscored 311-279
- The Lady Bulldogs will look to improve its free-throw shooting, currently ranking ninth in the conference, knocking down foul shots at 67% this season

- SWOSU will be at home all next week, hosting a pair of Arkansas foes in Harding and Arkansas Tech
