Setting the Stage
- Lady Bulldog basketball looks to snap a two-game slide in their regular season finale, which will take place on Saturday afternoon at Ouachita
- SWOSU is coming off two road losses in the past week and they are looking for their first win on Ouachita's home court in three seasons
- Ouachita has been eliminated from postseason contention, but they are coming off an 86-76 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday evening
- SWOSU leads the series against Ouachita 7-3 in league play, but they've lost their last two trips to Bill Vining Arena and they're 2-2 overall at Ouachita as league foes
- The Lady Bulldogs are tied with Southern Arkansas for third place in the league standings and they can cement the No. 3 seed in the GAC Tournament with a victory on Saturday
- Ouachita is alone in tenth place in the GAC standings, two games behind Arkansas-Monticello who has clinched the final position in the conference tournament
- Eight of Ouachita's ten victories this season have come on their home floor, while SWOSU is just 5-5 this year away from home

Ouachita (10-17, 7-14 GAC)
- The Tigers have alternated wins and losses in each of their last five games, and they enter Saturday's contest following an 86-76 victory over NWOSU on Thursday
- One of the lowest scoring teams in the conference, averaging 65.8 points per game while teams are scoring 72.5 ppg against the Tigers
- Ouachita leads the GAC in free throw percentage, having connected on 75.9% (401-528) of their attempts this season
- Two Ouachita players rank among the top ten scorers in the conference, with Breanna Harris (15.3 ppg) ranked seventh and Katie Kapler (15.1 ppg) ranking eighth
- Kori Bullard is the Tigers third-leading scorer, averaging 10.3 points per game, and she is ranked sixth in the GAC with 7.3 rebounds per game
 
The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (107-90; 7th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year has been the model of consistency, winning GAC Tournament titles in two of the last four years and earning back-to-back NCAA Division II National Tournaments during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons
- Earned her 100th victory as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs on January 18th, 2016 against Northwestern Oklahoma State
- A great developer of talent, Musick has coached one All-American and 12 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year recipient
- Musick has also spent time as an assistant coach at Fresno State, where they won two Western Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, as well as qualified for the NCAA Division I National Tournament in the 2008-09 season
- Has a record of 7-3 against Ouachita as the head coach of the Lady Bulldogs, including a 2-2 mark against the Tigers in Arkadelphia during GAC play
 
Ouachita Baptist: Garry Crowder (319-259; 21st season)
- In his 37th year of coaching and his 21st year as the head coach at Ouachita Baptist, where he is the Tigers all-time winningest coach
- During his previous seasons, Crowder's teams have either been ranked in the NCAA Division II Top 25 or receiving votes in the poll 11 times and his 2008-09 squad set a new school record with 23 wins
- Prior to coming to Ouachita, he spent 16 years in Arkansas high school basketball, where he won more than 400 games and had a 78.8 winning percentage

Last Time Out
- For the third time in four seasons, SWOSU was upended against Henderson State in Arkadelphia as the Reddies downed SWOSU 87-76 on Thursday night
- Hailey Tucker tied the game at 72-72 in the closing minutes, but HSU closed the game on a 15-4 run to earn the victory
- Jennifer Williams led the Lady Dawgs with 19 points and Morgan Vogt added 18 while Hayden Priddy and Korina Chapman had 10 points apiece

- Janae Coffee was limited to four points and six rebounds in just 15 minutes against Henderson State before fouling out in the fourth quarter
- SWOSU's scoring average for the season remains above 80 points per game and at 80.3 ppg, the Lady Dawgs rank second in the GAC and 12th in NCAA Division II for scoring
- The Lady Bulldogs continue to lead NCAA Division II in rebounds per game (48.6) and defensive rebounds per game (35.0) while ranking fourth in overall rebounds (1,311) and fifth in blocked shots (149.0)
- Katie Percival scored a career-high six points in 13 minutes of action against Henderson State, her longest stint of action in conference play
- After four straight games scoring fewer than ten points, SWOSU's Morgan Vogt has averaged 14.0 points per game for the Lady Bulldogs in their last two outings
- SWOSU's Hailey Tucker leads the Lady Bulldogs and ranks fifth among NCAA Division II freshmen this season with an average of 14.8 points per game, but she's coming off her lowest-scoring game of the season on Thursday (4 points)
