SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (112-93, 8th season)
- Coach Musick is a two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons
- A great developer of talent, Musick has coached one All-American and 15 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year recipient
- She earned her 100th win as a head coach last season against rival Northwestern Oklahoma State on January 18, 2016
- Musick has won GAC Tournament Championships in two of the last five years, and made consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament in 2012-13 and 2013-14
- Coach Musick has also spent time as an assistant coach at Fresno State, where they won two Western Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, as well as qualified for the NCAA Division I National Tournament in the 2008-09 season

Lubbock Christian: Steve Gomez (319-109 overall, 85-13 Div II, 14th season)
- Gomez claimed the 2016 WBCA NCAA Div. II National Coach of the Year honors
- He spent a portion of this past offseason as a court coach at the USA Basketball Women's U17 World Championship Team Trials in Colorado Springs, Colo
-An LCU graduate, Gomez was a standout perimeter player for Coach John Copeland in the late 1980s, and to this day, he still holds the school record for career free throw percentage at .855

- Harding and Henderson State sit atop the GAC standings with 4-0 records in league play
- SWOSU, Arkansas Tech, and Southeastern are next in the rankings with 3-1 records in the conference
- Ouachita and Northwestern hold 2-2 records while Arkansas-Monticello, East Central, and Southern Arkansas have won a single game and hold 1-3 slates

- After their 94-77 loss to Oklahoma Christian on Thursday, SWOSU now sits at a 5-3 overall record with one game left before taking three weeks off from competition

Savannah Gray tied the team high for made three-point shots in a game after draining four deep balls in the first half against the Lady Eagles
- Thursday's game against OC marked the second time this season SWOSU had at least four players post double-digit scoring numbers (Priddy 15, Gray/Tucker 14, Dunn 13) with the other coming against Missouri Southern State when five players posted double figures (Tucker 20, Gray 16, Hedrick 14, Dunn 12, Priddy 10)
- Gray now is shooting a team-best 35% from beyond the arc on 15-of-43 attempts followed closely by
Hailey Tucker at 33% on 16-of-48
- The Lady Bulldogs average nearly 25 three-point shots per game so far this season and are knocking them down at a 30.5% rate
- The Dawg defense has now forced 11 more steals than opponents so far this season (73-62) but are tied 135-135 in overall turnovers against the opposition
- SWOSU is losing the battle of the boards on the season by a -5.1 margin averaging 41.5 rebounds per game while giving up 46.6 per game
