WEATHERFORD, Okla. – There were times during the Lady Bulldogs 99-71 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State that it actually felt like it was raining 3-pointers at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.

That's because Sarina Sayama and the Lady Bulldogs each set records for 3-point shooting as SWOSU claimed sole possession of second place in the GAC standings. Sayama connected on 9-of-15 attempts from long range to tie the single-game school record of shooting from downtown, tying the mark set by Lisa McMullen in 1995 against – you guessed it – Southeastern.

As a team, SWOSU connected on 21-of-54 long range attempts, setting new school and Great American Conference records for most made 3-pointers. The previous record, in both instances, was held by the Lady Bulldogs, who hit 19 3-pointers against East Central on February 20, 2012.

The two teams combined to shoot 26-of-79 from 3-point range, tying the NCAA Division II record for three-point field goal attempts from both teams. The current standard mark of 79 was set by Glenville State and Bluefield State on December 16, 2009.

Sayama led the Lady Bulldogs with 33 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field in 25 minutes off the bench. Michelle Fisher added to her school-record total 3's made with four more in an 18-point, 9-rebound effort while Taryn Sayama connected on 3-of-10 triples to finish with 17 points.

Kylie Boggess also hit a trio of long balls and finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds. She was one of five players for SWOSU to finish with seven or more rebounds, helping the Lady Dawgs hold a 57-46 advantage on the backboard.

The win puts SWOSU in sole possession of second place in the GAC standings at 14-8 and 11-5 in conference action. They will again be tested next weekend with another road trip to Arkansas, starting on Thursday night against Henderson State.
