WEATHERFORD – With non-conference play in the rearview mirror, SWOSU Soccer turns its attention to the Great American Conference beginning Wednesday evening when Oklahoma Baptist visits the SWOSU Athletic Complex for the annual Pack the Park match.
The Bulldogs enter league play 2-1-3 overall following a six-game non-conference slate that featured three draws, wins over Newman and Emporia State, and just one loss. SWOSU was picked second in the GAC Preseason Coaches Poll after finishing 11-5-3 overall and 7-2-3 in conference play a season ago.
Through six matches, the Bulldogs have produced one of the league's top offensive attacks. SWOSU leads the GAC with nine goals and 23 total points while ranking second with 6.50 shots on goal per game.
Freshman
Kinsey Geasland has been at the forefront of that production. Geasland enters conference play as the GAC leader in goals (3), points (7), shots (25) and shots on goal (15). Her 25 attempts are nine more than any other player in the league, while her 15 shots on goal are four clear of the next closest player.
Geasland has already twice been named the GAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring in three of SWOSU's first four matches. She also added an assist in the Bulldogs' 3-1 victory over Emporia State.
The scoring has not been limited to Geasland.
Braelee Epp and
Sarahi Delgadillo have each found the back of the net twice, giving SWOSU three players with multiple goals entering conference play.
Brekyn Cope and
Krysta Hook have also scored for the Bulldogs.
SWOSU has also gotten strong play from both of its goalkeepers during the non-conference portion of the schedule.
Emma Young and
Lelu Lamb have combined for 25 saves and one shutout through six matches, and both have already earned GAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors. Young earned the award last week, while Lamb collected the honor this week following her work against Western Missouri State.
Wednesday's opponent, Oklahoma Baptist, enters conference play 1-4 overall. The Bison were picked tied for sixth in the preseason coaches poll and have scored four goals through five matches. SWOSU defeated OBU 3-1 in Shawnee during the first meeting between the teams last season before backing it up with a 2-1 win in Weatherford to close the regular season.
The Bulldogs are coming off a strong conference campaign in 2025 that saw them finish 7-2-3 in league play and earn the No. 2 seed in the GAC Tournament. Six All-GAC selections from that team returned for 2026 as SWOSU looks to again position itself among the league's top teams.
Wednesday's conference opener also serves as the annual Pack the Park match, sponsored by Wright Media. Kickoff against Oklahoma Baptist is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the SWOSU Athletic Complex. Students will have a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship and prize pack. Free food will be available for all fans, with rally towels provided to students courtesy of the SWOSU Collegiate Activities Board.
