WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Soccer closed out non-conference play Saturday with its first loss of the season, falling 2-0 to Central Oklahoma at the SWOSU Athletic Complex.
The Bulldogs move to 2-1-3 through six matches and will now turn their attention to Great American Conference play.
Central Oklahoma struck early with a goal in the fifth minute to take a 1-0 lead. SWOSU responded with five shots in the opening half, including four on goal, but was unable to find the equalizer.
Kinsey Geasland accounted for three attempts as the one-goal margin held through halftime.
UCO generated more pressure after the break, but SWOSU kept the deficit at one until the closing minutes.

Lelu Lamb entered late in the second half and added one more save.
The Bulldogs made a final push for the equalizer late in the match. Geasland put a shot on goal in the 89th minute before
Makena Hix and Geasland followed with attempts in quick succession. UCO answered on the other end with a goal at the 88:37 mark to produce the final 2-0 margin.
Central Oklahoma finished with a 13-10 advantage in shots and a 7-5 edge in shots on goal. Geasland led the Bulldogs with five attempts, including two on target, while Hix added two shots. SWOSU finished with five different players recording a shot in the match.
SWOSU opens GAC play Wednesday, September 16 against Oklahoma Baptist with the annual Pack the Park match, sponsored by Wright Media, at the SWOSU Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. Students will have a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship and prize pack. Free food will be available for all fans, with rally towels provided to students courtesy of the SWOSU Collegiate Activities Board.
