SWOSU returns to Weatherford this weekend to host a three-game Great American Conference series against East Central. The action kicks off with a single game on Friday, March 27, at 3:00 pm, followed by a Saturday doubleheader starting at noon. Friday will feature the annual Pack The Park event, hosted by SWOSU Residence Life, where fans in attendance will receive free food and shirts and one lucky student will win a $1,000 scholarship.

SWOSU enters the matchup with momentum after an impressive stretch that included a doubleheader sweep of Newman and a thrilling 4-3 upset over No. 7 Southern Arkansas last week. The Bulldogs have shown they can compete with the league's best, winning five of their last eight games as they look to climb the GAC standings.

Historically, the Tigers hold a 38-16 advantage in the series since 2010, but the tide has turned recently in favor of the Dawgs. SWOSU claimed the 2025 season series against East Central, winning two of three games in Ada to secure their first conference series victory last year. The Dawgs have claimed the past two series against ECU in Weatherford, taking two of three from the Tigers in 2024 and 2022.

Offensively, the Bulldogs are led by redshirt senior Maddie Rahon (.349), who remains a consistent threat after recording multiple multi-hit performances during the team's recent road trip. The Dawgs are hitting .266 as a team, ranked tied for sixth across the conference. In the circle, sophomore Alexis Taylor has been dominant, recently striking out a season-high 13 batters in a complete-game effort. Taylor and Blaire Gentry both have sub-4.00 ERAs. Gentry earned three saves last week.

ECU heads into the series looking to snap a nine-game slide and improve upon their 7-24 overall record. Despite the struggles, the Tigers possess power in the lineup with Kenni Tudor, who recently provided all of her team's scoring with a three-run home run against Harding.

This series is crucial for both programs as they sit within one game of each other, tied for ninth and 10th in the league standings. SWOSU currently sits two games back from the postseason threshold nearing the halfway point of the GAC schedule.
