RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Women's Basketball junior forward
Landry Allen collected her second consecutive Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week award, the league announced Monday.
The honor marks Allen's third Defensive Player of the Week selection in the first five weeks of the season.
Allen delivered another dominant defensive performance last week against Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene, averaging 4.5 blocks, three steals, and eight rebounds across the two games. In Thursday's win over OBU, Allen blocked four shots, recorded three steals, and scored 16 points on 50% shooting. She followed that effort with five more blocks and two steals two days later against Southern Nazarene, while pulling down eight rebounds in each contest.
Through the first portion of the season, Allen ranks first in the Great American Conference in blocks (3.9/game), fourth in steals (2.2/game), and sixth in rebounding (7.1/game). On the national level, she currently ranks third in blocks per game.
Allen and the Lady Bulldogs will close out the 2025 portion of the schedule Thursday, December 18, on the road against Southeastern Oklahoma State before Christmas Break pauses action until early January.
