WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The SWOSU men's golf team kicked off the season with The Mule Invitational, finishing in 19th position in a very competitive field.
Tenth-ranked Central Oklahoma won the tournament with a score of -1 as a team, beating out host Central Missouri by 14 strokes. UCM's 'B' Team finished third, four strokes behind the 'A' team.
Jack Phillips in his first tournament for the Dawgs led the way by shooting +12 through three rounds of play in Missouri. His best round came in round two with an even par 70 with one birdie and bogey in the round.
Ryan Carlisle (+13) and
Lukas Hendricks (+17) were next on the board for SWOSU. Carlisle had an impressive round of 72 in the final round of the tournament.
The Dawgs will be back in action next week September 16-17, at the NSU Men's Classic in Muskogee, Okla.
