Syring Grabs Second All-Region Nod with Latest D2CCA Selection

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) has announced the 2024 All-Central Region teams, which saw junior outfielder Jackson Syring named a second team selection.

Syring becomes the eighth SWOSU baseball player to earn a selection to the D2CCA (formerly Daktronics) All-Central Region team. This is his second all-region nod of the 2024 award season, having already earned matching second team honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) last week.

The D2CCA All-Region teams are voted upon by College Sports Communicators (CSC) from the region. The Central Region consists of 38 baseball teams from the Northern Sun (14 teams), Mid-America (12) and Great American (12) conferences. In all, 19 teams were represented with seven teams gaining multiple selections.

This season, Syring hit .394 in 49 games with 19 doubles, three triples, and 12 home runs. He drove in 57 runs and scored 56 times. Syring drew 24 walks and was hit by a pitch 21 times, helping contribute to a .511 on-base percentage.

Each of the 16 D2CCA All-Central Region First Team selections will now be listed on the All-America ballot, which will be voted on by the CSC Division II membership with the announcement of those All-American teams expected on Thursday, May 30.
