ALVA, Okla. – SWOSU had both teams claim first place at the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rodeo over the weekend in the final event of the fall schedule. The teams got an all-around title from Hadley Teut on the women's side, had four win the average in their events, four round winners, and 10 total competitors who finished inside the top-5.   
 
It's the first time since 2015 both the men and women claimed the top spot at a rodeo. It's the first rodeo victory for the men since the fall of 2022. Meanwhile, the women claim their third win in five events this fall.  
 
Teut was SWOSU's latest all-around champ. She joins Cheyenne VandeStouwe as Bulldogs to win an all-around this season. She was sixth in the average in Goat Tying and seventh in Breakaway Roping to claim it.
 
Average victories at Northwestern came courtesy of Jezimay Watson in Breakaway, Brody McAbee in Saddle Bronc, and the duo of Heston Harrison and Luke Compton in Team Roping. McAbee won his long round with an 83-point ride, while Harrison and Compton 5.4 second run in the short go gave them a round win as well.
 
Other round winners included long round winners Cheyenne VandeStouwe, in Goat Tying, and Braylee Ward in Barrel Racing. Both ended up second in the average in their events.
 
Bob Walter scored 70 points in the short go of Bareback to earn a second place round finish and get third in the average.
 
With five fall rodeos in the books, SWOSU will take a break from collegiate competition until March. The circuit gets back going in Fort Scott, Kansas March 7-9 and will run through late April with another five rodeos on tap including the 52nd SWOSU Rodeo on April 10-12.
