RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference released the 2024 Preseason Coaches Poll on Thursday afternoon where the Bulldogs were picked ninth.
Southern Arkansas was the resounding favorite with 10 first-place votes from league head coaches, followed by Arkansas Tech and Ouachita who both earned the other two remaining first-place votes. All three qualified for the NCAA Tournament a year ago.
SWOSU is slotted ninth in the poll – the exact position in the standings the Dawgs finished a year ago after ending with a 22-27 overall record and a 13-20 mark in the GAC.
The regular season begins February 2 and will span through the last weekend of April. The first weekend of the GAC Tournament commences May 3-4 should SWOSU qualify as a top-8 seed.
